Buhler USD-313 to discuss another facilities improvement bond issue

The Buhler School District and its administration have gone from discussion about the future of the districts facilities to action.

The Board of Education will take action on two items during Monday evenings meeting that will begin the process of bringing another fac8ilities improvement bond issue to USD-313 patrons.

Superintendent Dan Stiffler tells Eagle Radio News that the need to improve the districts buildings and grounds is simply too great to put off and the board is ready to take another shot at a bond issue after two other attempts failed several years ago.

During Mondays meeting, the board will seek approval of the hiring of Howard and Helmer Architects to handle the bond campaign. The firm will begin a needs assessment and begin bringing the proposal to the districts patrons.

While no firm date is known for when the district would bring a bond proposal to voters, Stiffler says it very likely that it wont happen during the 2012 presidential election. Stiffler noted that the district wants to take its time and see how the next legislative session and other factors pan out before selecting an exact date.

Mondays meeting for the Buhler School Board begins at 6pm at the school district offices at 406 West 7th in Buhler.
