WICHITA (AP) – A trial has been postponed until next month for a Wichita man accused of driving under the influence and speeding before a head-on crash that killed a college student.

Thirty-seven-year-old Tommie Lee Cameron had been scheduled to go on trial this week in Sedgwick County District Court, but the proceeding was continued until Feb. 27.

Prosecutors say Cameron had a crack pipe in his possession on July 25, 2010, when his car plowed into a vehicle stopped at a Wichita intersection. The other driver, 21-year-old Wichita State student Kari Rinehart, died. Her twin sister and their roommate were hurt.

Cameron has a prison record that includes convictions for aggravated battery, criminal threat charges and aggravated assault.
