TOPEKA – The Chamber PAC say they are showing early support for what they say are pro-business candidates in the 2012 primary elections.
They argue that they want to ser an aggressive goal to build a strong private sector in Kansas to make our state the best in which to do business. To achieve its goal effectively, they say their PAC is committed to supporting candidates who believe in free market principles, a competitive tax climate and responsible government spending.
They also complain about government spending, saying, the Kansas Legislature has had a blank check for government spending with too little accountability. The Governor and Kansas House have demonstrated a willingness to their idea of pro-business legislation.
But, they also believe to many don’t support their agenda, so they have chosen to support those who support that support decreasing the tax burden on an ever-shrinking private sector. They say these candidates will support the private sector over the public sector, and say the private sector needs relief.
“During the difficult economic downturn, while businesses were tightening their belts to survive, some in the Kansas Senate opted for tax increases instead of responsible spending cuts,” said Chamber PAC Chairman Ivan Crossland.
Bloated state budgets, increased taxes and what some would argue as an attack on workers, they complain about growing union and trial lawyers which they say are not the ingredients for private sector job creation.
They don’t like the moderates in the Senate that have not been as supportive of the governor’s agenda as the state chamber would like. They say they have chosen to support candidates who are willing to do what they believe it takes to turn things around in Kansas.
They claim Kansas finished last in the nation in job growth in 2010 after what they say was years of government expansion under the previous administration. They then argue that their vision is to create an environment that encourages private sector job growth through a competitive tax climate. This will create a strong private sector to fund essential government services. That way, we all win.
