HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Wichita man who entered pleas in a drug distribution case was sentenced to five years in prison.

Michael Guthrie entered pleas to possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana with a prior conviction. A fourth charge of having no drug tax stamp was dismissed. The state also changed the wording in count 1, taking out a part of him having a firearm while being a convicted felon.

He was one of four people who were in a vehicle which was stopped by police at 4th & Lorraine back on Jan. 26, 2014.

Johnson apologized to the community for his crimes. Judge Tim Chambers noting that Johnson is in the position not because he was addicted to methamphetamine, but because he was selling meth.
