HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two people charged in a drug distribution case were scheduled for a preliminary hearing Monday, however, it was continued until May when it was learned that some reports were not received by the defense.

Steven R. Morris and Michelle Williams are both charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute.

The state alleges that the two were in possession of the drugs and paraphernalia on Oct. 15 of last year and were allegedly selling the drugs.

In court, Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton told the court that neither defendant had asked for any type of plea agreement and that they may not offer one if the two are bound over for trial.

Stanton also asked the defense counsel if he received reports that were apparently sent to him last week while he was on vacation. They hadn’t, so Judge Joe McCarville agreed to continue the case until May 24.

Both defendants are free on bond.
