SALINE COUNTY – Two people were injured in an accident just after 3 p.m. on Friday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Jerry Larson, 47, Hutchinson, was eastbound on Interstate 70 three miles east of Niles Road.

The driver lost control due to the rain, entered the median and struck a 2009 Mercedes that was unoccupied.

Larson and a passenger Cheryl Hinshaw, 40, Hutchinson, were transported to the hospital in Salina.

Two children in the van were not injured.

All were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
