
HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 21-year-old man who may suffer from mental illness made a first court appearance on a serious charge of aggravated battery – domestic violence.
Alexander Harbold is alleged to have struck a woman at a residence on North Superior so hard that she was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment. The victim suffered a fractured eye socket as a result and according to statements made in court may require surgery.
This is apparently the third incident involving the same victim which after learning of this caused Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen to raise the bond from $5,000 to $20,000.
He also has another case where he’s charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on April 18.
He will be back in court next Monday for the reading of formal charges.
