HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson woman charged with one count of felony interference with law enforcement wants the case dismissed.

Bridget Hippen is alleged to have withheld a cell phone from Hutchinson Police Detective Bryan Rodriquez while he was investigating a stabbing case involving her brother. This occurred on Dec. 10, 2015.

Her brother, Toby Hippen, faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder, or in the alternative, aggravated battery and an additional charge of aggravated burglary.

He allegedly forced entry into the residence of Megan Drach and stabbed her repeatedly and then fled the scene. His case is still pending and he’s jailed on a half million dollar bond.

It was first thought it was a motion to suppress hearing in front of Judge Trish Rose, but the defense actually wants the case dismissed.

Judge Rose took the matter under advisement.
