HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 21-year-old man was back in court Monday where he was read the formal charge against him.

Alexander Harbold is alleged to have struck a woman so hard that she was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment. The victim suffered a fractured eye socket as a result and, according to statements made in court, may require surgery. That allegedly occurred on May 13.

He also has another case where he’s charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on April 18.

In court, the alleged victim in the case asked that a non-contact order be lifted, but that was denied by Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen. The victim then became angry and stormed out of the courtroom.

Harbold remains jailed on a $20,000 bond.
