HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 31-year-old man made a first appearance Tuesday morning after he was arrested Saturday after a domestic disturbance.

Jason Davenport is allegedly to have battered a family member and put them in a choke hold, that according to statements made in court. He at one point also had a screwdriver and when police arrived, they ask him to drop it and he allegedly refused. They apparently had to wrestle him to the ground where he finally let loose of it.

Possible charges include aggravated battery and felony interference with law enforcement.

In court, he requested a bond reduction which the state opposed. But, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen agreed to lower from $11,500 to $10,000, saying she wouldn’t go any lower.

The incident occurring around 12:50 a.m.

Davenport should be back in court on June 7, for the reading of any formal charges.
