A 24-year-old Hutchinson man remains jailed on a 150-thousand dollar bond facing six charges involving the sexual abuse of a child over a period of time starting in 2006.

Salvador Araujo-Guiterrez is charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, and three alternate counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

The first incident involving a then 7-year-old girl occurring in a period between July 1, 2006 and June of 2007. The second occurrence involving the same child when she was 10-or-11 years old occurring in June of 2010. The last one occurring between January 2nd, and 9th of 2011, when the child was 11-years-old.

All of the charges are Jessica’s Law charges meaning he could be looking at multiple life sentences if convicted.

District Attorney Keith Schroeder wouldn’t comment on any relationship the suspect and the victim had, but says the parents learned of the abuse and reported it to police.

Araujo-Guiterrez was read the formal complaint by Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen Thursday morning and the case will now be placed on a waiver-status docket for February 7.
