Local man busted for aggravated assault and numerous warrants

Majesty Wade

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 21-year-old man was jailed by police Monday for a number of warrants as well as aggravated assault for a case going back to June 3.

A 35-year-old woman had reported to police that Majesty “Magic” Wade had threatened her with a handgun, pointing at her, then allegedly firing a shot into the ground near where she was standing. This occurred at a residence in the 2900 block of East 4th.

He was picked up by police in the area at 8th & Maple Monday on the numerous warrants as well as the new charge.

In court Tuesday, he saw his bond increased by Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen from $5,000 to $25,000 because of a weapon being involved.

Wade was also scheduled for arraignment Monday in front of Judge Tim Chambers for felony criminal damage, but because he was being booked into jail during that time, that didn’t happen. That case goes back to Oct. 6, 2015.

He’ll be back in court on the new case on June 14 to see if the state has filed any formal charges.
