Apartment complex going in old Pegues building

HUTCHINSON Kan. — If you’ve driven by the old Pegues Building on North Main in Hutchinson, you’vea8d4bd81d6864d4faed7a2481bd76966 noticed a lot of work going on.

Salina developer Brian Richardson is turning the former store into an apartment complex and business space. Demolition on the four-floor structure has been under way for about 30 days, and Richardson says he’s waiting on the state when it comes to some Historical Tax Credits to help fund the project. The building will provide about 17 market-rate one-bedroom apartments on the top three floors, along with around 9,000 square feet of office and retail space. Richardson says he already has one tenant for the retail space.

Work is expected to get under way in the coming weeks with a completion date around eight months beyond that.
