HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 45-year-old man was arrested Tuesday evening in Hutchinson in a domestic violence case where the alleged victim was badly beaten.
Donald Perkins faces a possible charge of aggravated battery — domestic violence after he and a local woman got into a fight. He allegedly pulled her off the bed and began striking her in the face. She had injuries that included a cut lip that may require stitches, as well as a swollen eye.
The attack apparently occurred in multiple rooms with police saying they found blood throughout the residence.
In court, Perkins argued that she was choking him and he had to hit her to get her to let go. He asked for a bond reduction, which not only was denied, but Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen actually raised it to $10,000.
Perkins will be back in court on June 15 for the formal reading of charges.
