Counterfeit $100 bills passed at local businesses

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Apparently we still have counterfeit money being handed out in the city. An employee of a local smoke shop says they received a fake $100 bill on Friday, and an employee of a local convenience store also reported receiving one of the phony bills over the weekend.

These are the two reports we saw on the police bulletin.

Business owners are reminded to be vigilant when accepting large bills, especially $50s and $100s.
