One of the three people suspected in a string of auto burglaries belonging to law enforcement, public officials and other private citizens was in court Friday morning over whether he’s competent to stand trial. 19-year-old Sheridan Kiraly was given a mental evaluation and Judge Trish Rose found he’s competent to stand trial.

The 19-year-old is charged with 16-counts of burglary stemming from his arrest, along with 21-year-old Victor Smith, and 18-year-old Madison Smalling. He’s also accused in a second case of battering a law enforcement officer.

With Friday’s decision by Judge, his case will now go before of jury on March 20.

Smalling earlier entered a plea to just four counts of auto burglary, while six others were dropped by the state. She was sentenced to 7-months on each count by Judge Rose who ran two counts consecutive to each other and the rest concurrent for a total sentence of 14-months. She was then granted 12-months probation.

Smith is also charged with 16-counts of burglary, but is also charged with possession of marijuana. He also awaits trial, but in front of Judge Joe McCarville.

The three are accused of numerous burglaries in a period occurring from July 1, through July 3, of last year.
