HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 21-year-old man arrested back on June 3 for allegedly firing a weapon near another individual has been formally charged.

Majesty “Magic” Wade had allegedly threatened a local woman with a handgun, pointing it at her, then allegedly firing a shot into the ground near where she was standing. This occurred at a residence in the 2900 block of East 4th.

When police arrived, he had left the scene, but was located in the area at 8th & Maple. He was also arrested on numerous warrants, as well as the new charge.

It was last week when Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen raised his bond from $5,000 to $25,000 because of a weapon being involved. In court Tuesday morning, he again asked for a reduction, which was denied.

He has another case in front of Judge Tim Chambers for felony criminal damage that goes back to Oct. 6, 2015.

With the charges filed in the new case, it now moves to a waiver-status docket.
