HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 30-year-old man who is alleged to have absconded from Community Corrections now finds himself facing more felony charges.

Jonathan Dick was spotted by law enforcement in the area of 7th & Monroe with the officer following him a residence where he pulled into a driveway. They ran the tag on the vehicle and allegedly it was stolen. Dick apparently entered the residence in the 600 block of North Monroe.

Knowing that he had warrants, they were granted permission to enter the home and allegedly found Dick hiding in a closet. They found syringes on him that contained meth and the keys to a vehicle in a shoe.

Potential charges include felony theft, felony interference with law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.

He was also arrested three warrants through the Reno County Sheriff’s Office and one through Hutchinson Police.

He made a first appearance on the new charges Tuesday morning where he was told of the potential charges and bond was left at $19,500. He’ll be back in court on the new charges on June 28.

Dick has been on corrections for drug related convictions for cases going back to 2014 and 2015.
