HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A local man bound over for trial in a child sex case for a second time is facing even more charges.

Kenneth Broadfoot already faced charges in one case with aggravated indecent liberties with a child, criminal sodomy of a child 14 to 16 years of age, and aggravated intimidation of a witness in what the state alleges was a conspiracy. Those alleged crimes occurred between June 1, 2014, and May 31, 2015. But, Senior Assistant District Attorney Steve Maxwell has filed an amended complaint in this case adding seven more counts either accusing him of aggravated intimidation of a witness or solicitation to commit aggravated intimidation of a witness. Some of the alleged crimes occurred in December of last year, while others are alleged to have occurred in June.

In the second case, he’s also charged with solicitation to commit aggravated intimidation of a witness and solicitation for another person to commit perjury. These crimes are alleged to have occurred between Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, 2015.

Hutchinson Police had reported that Broadfoot was arrested after he allegedly made phone calls to an underage girl. When the girl was questioned by police, she admitted to the sexual encounters, leading to the indecent liberties charge. Police could not say how long the two had been in a relationship, but say it could have been more than a year.

Earlier this month, Broadfoot had entered a “not guilty” plea to criminal sodomy involving a 15-year-old girl back in September of 2015 following a sexual encounter during the Kansas State Fair. There is apparently a motion by the defense to get this case dismissed. Maxwell says the hearing on that matter has been continued to June 29.
