A 19-year-old Hutchinson man arrested in a domestic case back in December was back in court Monday morning for the formal reading of charges against him that includes aggravated robbery.

Ean Calbert of 300 East 11th is not only charged with aggravated robbery, he also faces charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

According to the criminal complaint, back on December 21, 2011, he allegedly took property from James Beckom by force using a box knife. The items taken included medications from Beckom.

He’s also alleged to have struck Lena Mans at the same location on east 11 th, and damage a window screen belonging to her.

In court, Calbert asked for a reduction to his bond of 30-thousand dollars, but because of the accusations the state was opposed. The judge went with the state and denied the request.

At one point, Calbert stated he would plead guilty even though he claims he was being set up. He told Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen, that at this point, he doesn’t care. The judge told him he needed to speak with an attorney over these matters before he does anything.

With the charges filed, the case will now be placed on a waiver-status docket for next month.
