Injury accident at 69th & Lorraine

RENO COUNTY – Hutchinson Fire, Reno County EMS and Reno County Sheriff officials were dispatched to the intersection of 69th and Lorraine for a two vehicle injury accident.

A vehicle operated by a 65-year-old man was west bound on 69th when they failed to yield at a posted stop sign. The vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by Chevy Silverado operated by an 18-year-old The Silverado was northbound and struck the other vehicle in the driver’s side door.

Units from the Hutchinson Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to free the 65-year-old from his vehicle. He was transported from the scene by Reno County EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in critical condition and later flown to Via Cristi’s St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita The 18-year-old was transported by Reno County EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.

No names have been released pending notification of family members.
