HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Fire Crews responded to the 300 block of West 11th for a structure fire.

Initial arriving units reported smoke showing from the basement windows. First arriving crew initiated a fire attack. Crews were able to contain the fire to the basement with minimal damage to the remaining structure. The fire was extinguished in 30 minutes, however, crews remained on scene for a couple of hours, preforming salvage and overhaul.

One individual was treated for possible smoke inhalation.

Damage to the home is estimated at $5,000.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time with the call coming in at 8:47 a.m.
