HUTCHINSON –On  Thursday Congressman Tim Huelskamp awarded two service medals to Marine Corps and Navy Veteran John Meeker.

Special guest Congressman Jeff Miller, Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee, was also there to honor Mr. Meeker’s service.

“It appears that Mr. Meeker’s awards had never been given to him – an unfortunate oversight. Chairman Miller and I are thrilled to be able present these medals tonight,” Congressman Huelskamp said.

Mr. Meeker contacted Huelskamp’s office for help receiving the medals he earned during his four years actively serving in our military.

“My office has helped over 1,300 Veterans get the care, benefits, and medals they earned. It’s an honor to be of service to each and every one of our Veterans,” Huelskamp said. “Mr. Meeker is also eligible for another medal, and our Veterans specialist, Allison Reed, is continuing to pursue that one.”
