Southwest Bricktown neighborhood meeting coming later this month

2016 Visioning Session

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Officials are seeking your help to continue to make progress in the SW Bricktown neighborhood.

The Neighborhood Center at Ave A Elementary School is hosting a community visioning session on August 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. It will be held at Ave A Elementary School located at 111 S. Madison in Hutchinson.

Dinner and childcare will be provided. The session will give neighborhood residents and community leaders the opportunity to reflect on the SW Bricktown neighborhood’s progress over the last year and participate in a visioning session to help reflect on the current areas of focus and give voice to any new ideas that should be considered. All residents of the SW Bricktown area, community partners and leaders are encouraged to attend.

The gathering is part of the Community Engagement Initiative, funded by the Kansas Health Foundation and managed by the Center for Global Policy Solutions, granted to United Way of Reno County. Other partners in the grant are the Reno County Health Department, Hutchinson Recreation Commission and City of Hutchinson. United Way has also brought in under the grant Boys and Girls Club, Circles of Hope and Interfaith Housing Services.

The Neighborhood Center at Ave A School is very excited to host the event. Residents are the key to community change. They understand community needs and have some of the best ideas on how to address them.

These sessions are a great place for everyone, residents and community leaders, to have a voice in unlocking the neighborhood’s potential and advancing the progress on the work that has already begun. We need you! Residents are the driving force behind the neighborhood’s ability to make change happen in the SW Bricktown and to create and even better place to live, work and play!

Please consider being a part of the visioning session to benefit this neighborhood and our community.
