HUTCINSON, Kan. – A 42-year-old woman was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center on Saturday after she rolled her 2003 Jeep Wrangler in the 5000 block of North Monroe.

Lissa Theriot told Reno County Sheriff Deputies that she was driving south on Monroe and she saw people riding horses in the east ditch. A car traveling north on Monroe entered the southbound lane to give the horseback riders some room. She said she noticed the car moving over so she moved over towards the west ditch. When she did this, her passenger side tires went off the road. She attempted to bring the Jeep back on the roadway but over corrected causing the Jeep to cross the center line and enter the east ditch. While traveling in the ditch, she struck a limestone mailbox post. After striking the post, she then struck the culvert located at the driveway which caused the Jeep to roll once coming to rest in the yard.

Theriot was wearing a seat belt, but airbags did not deploy according to the deputies. She complained of general pain and was transported by Reno County EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The accident occurring around 12:20 p.m.
