HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Beginning today and running through Labor Day on September 5, law enforcement agencies across state will be cracking down aimed at removing drunk, drugged, and other dangerous drivers from Kansas roadways. The Kansas Department of Transportation utilizes grant funds to underwrite the ”You Drink. You Drive. You Lose.” enforcement program.
Officials say on average four people are injured every day, and one is killed every three days, in Kansas crashes where at least one of the drivers involved is impaired by alcohol and/or another drug.
The best advice is to not get behind the wheel if you plan to drink or have already consumed alcohol.
If you do, be warned that law enforcement will be having extra officers on the streets looking specifically for impaired drivers.
