HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Every single day, there are still people showing up at the Reno County Courthouse looking for the County Treasurers Office to renew tags or pay taxes.
As we have mentioned many times, that department along with three others have moved to a building across from the courthouse that used to be the Reno County Jail Annex. Once the new jail was built in the southeast part of Hutchinson, the county remodeled the annex and now houses four departments including the County Treasurers Office.
The county did put up a small blue sign out side the courthouse as well as two more on the doors to the courthouse and even in the lobby, but many people walk right past them, then wonder why the main floor of the courthouse is empty of any activity.
The Reno County Annex is the building on the southeast corner of 1 st & Adams. There is a sign at the corner that indicates the county departments located in that building.
