Bridge replacement contract awarded to Newton firm

road work

TOPEKA, Kan. — The Kansas Department of Transportation announced bids for projects across the state, including a bridge replacement across the north fork of the Ninnescah River, located near Arlington.

Bridges Inc. of Newton had the lowest bid for that project at $1,396,972.

The bridge is 1.7 miles northeast of the old west junction of K-61/K-11, or what used to be K-14.

As we told you earlier, the state will pay the county to use Sego Road north out of Arlington as a detour when the project begins in the near future, assuming there are no delays.
