HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A fourth person has been charged in association with a robbery at knife point back on Aug. 3.

Shelby Anderson was brought back from Minnesota by the Reno County Sheriff’s Office for a warrant charging her with aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.

She and three men are alleged to have been involved with the robbery of four juveniles outside of Walmart.

Also charged in the case is Blake Bryant, Ryan Reed and Stephen Howard. Howard and Reed are also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Police say the suspects were drinking and smoking marijuana and decided they needed more cash for cigarettes. They allegedly went to Walmart and tried to break into vehicles, but then spotted the young men on the side of the store. That’s when two of them wrapped their shirts around their heads, pulled a knife and robbed the four of $85.

They were in a vehicle allegedly driven by Anderson. She was detained, but not arrested with the other three.

The four apparently went to a Kwik Shop after the robbery, bought the cigarettes, then went back to Walmart where they were again looking inside vehicles. Employees got suspicious and called police, leading to the arrest of the three men.

In court, Anderson’s mother requested an OR or signature bond for her daughter saying the only reason she was in Minnesota was that she was going to school there. But, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen denied the request.

The case against Anderson now moves to a waiver-status docket on Oct. 5.
