ABBYVILLE , Kan. – Officials at Camp Kanza Boy Scout Camp are being advised to boil all water and
take other precautions after the The Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued a boil water order for the complex just south of Abbyville.
KDHE officials issued the boil water order because required monthly Bacteriological Monitoring has not been completed and a loss of pressure in the distribution system resulting in unknown water quality. The order took effect on September 22 and will remain in effect until conditions which place the system at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be adequately resolved.
The KDHE says the advisory order is a precautionary measure until water quality samples indicate water is free of bacteriological contamination.
KDHE will issue the rescind order following testing at a certified laboratory.
