Water test results expected this week for Kanza Scout Camp

ABBYVILLE , Kan. – Officials with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment say they hope tokanza have results of tests completed on the water supply at a Reno County Scout Camp this week.

Officials at Camp Kanza Boy Scout Camp were told last week to boil all water and take other precautions after the KDHE issued a boil water order for the complex just south of Abbyville.

According to the KDHE the camp failed to provide the necessary water samples for the months of July, August and September. When that occurred the state was forced to order the boil water advisory. The KDHE says the advisory order is a precautionary measure until water quality samples indicate water is free of bacteriological contamination.

Samples were provided to the state Monday, and the KDHE will issue the rescind order following testing at a certified laboratory.
