TYLER, Texas – Freshman Nina Pevic had a combined 14 kills on .324 hitting to lead the Hutchinson Community College volleyball team on Friday at the Tyler TJC Invitational. But the No. 19 Blue Dragons dropped a pair of matches to nationally ranked opponents San Jacinto and Indian Hills on Day 1.

The Blue Dragons were in every set on Friday, but lost to No. 12 San Jacinto 25-20, 25-21, 25-23 and No.17 Indian Hills 25-21, 25-19, 25-18. The Blue Dragons fall to11-9 overall with matches against Blinn College and Navarro College on Saturday. The Blue Dragons are 2-5 in games against teams ranked in the NJCAA Top 20.
