GRAINFIELD – An early morning accident early Tuesday in Gove County claimed the life of a 19-year-old Hoxie man.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Nathan Barnhart was westbound on Highway 40, about a mile west of Grainfield when he lost control of his vehicle when he entered a south ditch and rolled his Ford truck. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels facing southeast. Barnhart was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
