Mortgage Registration Tax and Recording Fee see a drop

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Both the Mortgage Registration Tax and Recording Fee in September saw a big drop if you compare it to the previous month and even September of last year.

The county collected to $29,532 for the Mortgage Tax last month compared to $40,578 in August and $33,398 in September of last year.

As far as the Recording Fee, it was a slightly different story, the county collected $24,379 in September which is a drop from August when the total was $29,379. But the September total is considerably more then September of last year when they only collected $16,322.

So far for the year, the county over all is slightly ahead of last year. So far, they’ve collected $461,835 which is more then last year when the total at this point was $452,156. That’s a $9,679 difference.
