HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 22-year-old man with a lengthy criminal history finds himself in more trouble for allegedly being involved with the thefts of a moped and a couple of motorcycles.

Derrick Pederson faces possible charges for three counts of being in possession of stolen property and theft.

The thefts occurred earlier this month and police discovered the vehicles at home in the 1100 block of East 9th that he apparently shared with Jacqueline Jurgens. That according to statements made in court when Pederson appeared via video from the Reno County Correctional Facility.

They apparently found all three stolen items at that location, one of which was on a trailer at the home. He allegedly told police that he didn’t steal the items, only allowed them to be stored at the home, but he apparently knew they were stolen.

He’s expected back in court in the new charges next week.

Pederson is also facing a probation violation for numerous convictions for burglary, theft, drugs, obstruction, trafficking in contraband into a detention facility or prison and forgery. That probation violation is pending in front of Judge Trish Rose.

Jurgens was arrested last week on drug distribution charges. She is expected back in court later this week.
