HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Sales tax receipts for the month of October were positive in Reno County.

Total sales tax revenue for the month was $373,738, or about $16,000 higher than this month last year and about $5,500 higher than in September.

But the county will have to do better in the next two months if it wants to surpass the total revenue for the year. The county is currently $757,068 dollars short of last year’s total of $4,484,683, which means the county will have to average more than $378,000 over the next two months to catch that goal.

Last year, the county averaged about $368,033 for the last two months of 2015.
