HARVEY COUNTY – A child was injured in an accident at 6p.m. on Friday in Harvey County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Ford passenger car driven by Trina N. Brown, 30, Moundridge, was northbound on Halstead Road just south of NW 60th Road. The vehicle hit a deer that entered the roadway from the east.

A passenger Taisha J. Sanchez, 10, Halstead, was transported to the hospital in Newton.

Brown and 2 other children in the vehicle were not injured.

All four were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
