HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One of three men arrested back on April 2 on drug distribution charges was back before a judge Wednesday morning for a preliminary hearing.

Twenty-five year-old Derrick Taylor was bound over for trial and faces arraignment for distribution of methamphetamine and marijuana, possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia for distribution as well as personal use. Taylor and Robert Goodman are also charged with criminal possession of a firearm.

The three were arrested after police came to a motel room in the 300 block of East 4th. Police were able to get consent to search the room and allegedly found items consistent with the distribution of drugs as well as a fully loaded 45-caliber handgun and a large amount of cash on all three.

The other two requested plea offers from the state and Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton made the offer, so their hearings were continued to give them time to consider the offer. Their cases move back to a waiver-status docket on Dec. 28.

Taylor will be arraigned on the charges on Dec. 5.
