HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Red Stocking Breakfast offers a family-friendly holiday atmosphere while also benefiting Hutchinson-area programs like Healthy Families. The Period of PURPLE Crying, child abuse prevention campaigns and the Parent Helpline (1-800-CHILDREN), are all made possible thanks to Kansas Children’s Service League’s (KCSL) signature fundraising event. While many of KCSL’s programs receive additional support from United Ways and other grant sources, all rely on Red Stocking Breakfast funds to serve their area.

This year’s event will be held at a new location from previous years. The breakfast is 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Stringer Fine Arts Center, Hutchinson Community College, 600 E. 11th. All the food for the event is donated by Great Western Dining Service; 100 percent of the funds raised benefit KCSL programs and services.

The event features a breakfast dished out by local celebrity servers. Attendees also have a chance to win a family trip to Six Flags in Arlington, Texas, or St. Louis, Missouri. Serving as 2016 Honorary Chairs are Carter File, president of Hutchinson Community College, and his wife Tracey. In addition to Hutchinson Community College, major partners include PRA Group, Cox Communications and Bank of the West. This year’s multi-market partners are Kansas Gas Service and Westar Energy.
