HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 30-year-old man was arrested after a traffic stop in South Hutchinson back on Dec. 3 has been formally charged.

Jonathan Beer is now charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package drugs and for personal uses, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal carrying of a weapon with a barrel less then 18 inches and a number of traffic charges.

He earlier claimed he didn’t know the gun was in the vehicle.

Beer has previous convictions for aggravated battery and aggravated assault for a case back in 2013.

He’s free on $7,500 bond and his case moves to a waiver-status docket.
