Search for new president under way at Kansas Cosmosphere

The Kansas Cosmosphere & Space Center CEO Search Committee is launching a search for a new President and CEO who will report directly to the Cosmosphere’s Governing Board of Directors.

Chris Orwoll, former President and CEO, announced his departure in November 2011. Since then, the Cosmosphere has been under the leadership of Interim President and CEO Richard Hollowell, who previously served as Director of Operations.

The CEO Search Committee expects to mail letters to prominent aerospace, museum and other industry executives announcing the position requirements.  A full job description is posted at www.cosmo.org . Applications will be received until March 15th; telephone interviews will be conducted in April, with the anticipation that an offer will be made to a qualified candidate in May. The Cosmosphere expects to seat a new CEO in June 2012.

Search Committee Co-Chairs are Tom Giller, KCSC Governing Board Chair and Community Bank President Commerce Bank., and Allen Fee, President of Fee Insurance Group and Past President KCSC Governing Board. The search committee includes Aubrey Abbott Patterson, Leann Cox, John Doswell, Alan Feldkamp, Bobby Gandu, Sarah Liebl, John Montgomery, Darla Neal and Russ Reinert.
