The Stafford County Hospital has been seeking no-fund warrants in the amount of 555,000 dollars from Stafford County to help pay off some of the hospital’s debts. The no-fund warrants are loans from some local banks that the County would pay back over four years. The public has been given up to 60-days to collect over 140-signatures from Stafford County residents that would force a public vote on the issue.

Stafford County Hospital Administrator Todd Taylor says a public vote would stall the Hospital from receiving the no-fund warrants for at least another 60 days, which he says could cause the Hospital to fall under. He said the Hospital has had three well-attended public meetings in St. John, Macksville, and Stafford, to inform the public about the issue. Taylor says the Hospital will probably have some more public meetings on the issue.
