Reno County sales tax numbers released by County Treasure Clark Miller Wednesday show a slight increase in the amount of dollars collected for the month of February.

The county brought in 397-thousand, 929-dollars this month compared with 394-thousand, 250-dollars in February of last year. But, it is a sharp increase over January numbers when the county brought in 345-thousand, 63-dollars.

But, that’s not surprising really, considering the February numbers reflect sales during the busy Christmas season in December.

It’s also the second largest number of dollars brought in since 2001. The only amount that beat this month was 2007, when the county brought in 409-thousand, 695-dollars.

So far this year, the county has brought in 742-thousand, 993-dollars which again is an increase over the same period last year when the county brought in 728-thousand, 711-dollars.
