Early morning accident sends a Hutchinson woman to a Wichita hospital

A 58-year-old Hutchinson woman was taken to a Wichita hospital early Saturday after a one vehicle accident north of the city.

Sheriff Captain Wayne Baughman says that at around 5:30 a-m, deputies were sent to 1/4 mile north of 56th on Plum for a single car crash. Stephanie Keating was apparently driving a 1996, Mercedes southbound on Plum.

For some unknown reason, she crossed the center line went into the east ditch striking a mailbox and culvert then went airborne and then landing striking a second culvert.

She was transported by Reno County E-M-S to Hutch Regional Medical Center, then airlifted by Midwest Lifeteam to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Baughman says the crash is still under investigation and adds it’s not known if Keating was wearing a seat belt
