Hutchinson School board changes house sale arrangement

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The USD 308 School Board opened up the process for selling the district’s Building Trades Home for 2017 during its study session Monday.

The board voted to reach out to local real estate brokers or agencies willing to assume the transaction obligations for a 0.5 percent fee, based on the selling price. If more than one agency/broker expresses interest, the district will use a random draw to determine the winner.

Under this arrangement, any licensed real estate agent in Hutchinson will be able to sell the house for a 3 percent commission. The district does retain the right to sell the house directly, which has been the process for sale of the past several homes.

The home is located at 2813 Morris Rd. on Hutchinson’s northwest side in the Oxford Pointe Addition. The home is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house on two levels with more than 2,900 square feet of finished space. The asking price on the home is $269,000.
