A 26-year-old man could face serious charges after a disturbance led to him being arrested for a charge of burglary, obstruction, theft, criminal damage and criminal trespass.

Dustin Phillips is jailed on a bond of 50-thousand dollars after police were called to the report of trouble with a subject call in the 6700 block of North Hendricks. Apparently, Phillips was yelling and throwing things, and when the officer attempted to calm him down, he ran into a shed and then out the door and into a house where he locked the door. He then fled out the backdoor and into a field where the officer says he lost him.

He had apparently been told not to enter the property in the past and he allegedly broke a window on the front door and entered the residence, then loaded the alleged victims possessions in the truck he was driving.

After he ran off, she then began unloading item from the truck and discovered a receipt from Wal-Mart and one of her checks, which was for over 8-hundred, 88-dollars. She also found paper-work for the pickup which came to 16-thousand, 750-dollars and was paid for with one of her checks. She said she was missing an entire book of checks.

Phillips did eventually come back toward the house and the officer ordered him to ground and he did, and he was then taken into custody without incident.

He made a first appearance in court Monday where a request for a bond reduction was denied.
He’ll be back in court on Wednesday.
