Burglary suspect bound over for trial for additional burglary count

One of the two men suspected in a string of auto burglaries belonging to law enforcement, public officials and other private citizens was in court Thursday morning for a preliminary hearing over an additional count of auto burglary.

19-year-old Sheridan Kiraly was bound over on the additional count after District Judge Tim Chambers gave testimony over being a victim in this case. He apparently had a GPS device stolen from him.

The 19-year-old is now charged with 17-counts of burglary stemming from his arrest, along with 21-year-old Victor Smith. He’s also accused in a second case of battering a law enforcement officer.

18-year-old Madison Smalling was also charged in the case, but entered a plea and is currently on community corrections.

Kiraly is scheduled for a jury on March 20.

The two are currently accused of numerous burglaries which occurred in a period occurring from July 1, through July 3, of last year.
