HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Because of your generosity, Project Concern beat last year’s donation total. This annual event raises money to help local families have a better Thanksgiving.
The final total was $18,811 — beating last year’s total of $17,500. That included two anonymous $5,000 donations, plus $1,000 raised from people coming by the BW studios during a live broadcast from our driveway.
Seventy-five percent of the money raised goes to The Salvation Army to help families. The other 25 percent is divided between the Emanuel Lutheran Church to help with their community Thanksgiving meal, as well as Friendship Meals and the Christian Soup Kitchen.
Thanks again for your generous donations and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
