Gary B. Gibson, 75, died on Nov. 4, 2017 at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was born on August 20, 1942 in Anthony, KS to Byron Gibson and Lucille (Bower) Spicer.
Gary graduated from the Hazelton High School. He then went to attend Pittsburgh Vocational Technical School. He worked as a show car painter for many years, and most recently was a painter for the State of Kansas. He also enjoyed farming and was the owner of Gary’s Body Shop.
He spent time in the Hazelton community as well as South Hutchinson.
Preceding him in death were his parents and an uncle, Loyd Bower and many friends.
Survivors include his son Brad Gibson; three brothers, Mike Spicer and companion Linda Lukens, Chris Spicer and Bret (Judy) Spicer; two granddaughters, Morgan Gibson and Lawren (Brian) Hinson; one great granddaughter, Makinzie Hinson; four nieces and their families, Brooke Spicer and son, Smyth Strahan, Blaire (Darren) Campbell, and son Dane, Mollie Spicer, Stephanie Spicer; one nephew, Evan (Rachel) and sons Eli and Hayes; “half cousin”, Sam Spicer and children, Hanna, Haley, Hattie, Hunter and “half cousin” Clay Spicer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 10th, from 1:00-8:00 p.m at Hutchison Funeral Chapel with family greeting during this time.
Funeral Services will be held on Sat. Nov. 11th, at 10:00 a.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave.
Burial will be held on the same day, at 3:00 p.m. at the Hazelton Cemetery, Hazelton,KS.
Following the burial, there will be a Celebration of Life and a reception held in Hazelton at the Owls Community Center.
