HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Public Library will close during daytime hours from 9 a.m. to
5 p.m. beginning Monday, Nov. 13, due to major elevator repairs. The building will be open during the evening from 5 until 9.
The daytime hours closing is expected Monday through Wednesday, but could very well last through Thursday or even Friday, according to a news release from the library.
While the building will be closed during the day, all evening programs or meetings will run as scheduled.
Some library services will available in the evening hours. Patrons can pick up reserved books from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The 24-hour drop box behind the library is also open for patrons to drop off books, and library staff will check the dropbox daily. Storytimes will be canceled for the week, and any fines incurred during the dates the library is closed will be suspended.
Library staff ask that patrons continue to check the library website, www.hutchpl.org, for the latest information of when library will return to normal daytime hours.
